5-Minute Mood Boosters Every Mom Should Try

Maybe you haven’t slept, or you’re craving a moment to yourself. If you’re feeling fraught, here are some 5-minute mood boosters that could save your day.

1.Crank up the volume

Music is something that triggers an emotional response in most of us. Sometimes, tunes can make us feel chilled out and relaxed. In other cases, they can revive tired minds and limbs, and give us the energy and motivation to get through the rest of the day. If you’re stressed out, go for a soothing tune to make you feel calm, or something a little livelier that will have you singing along in no time. If you’re a little down, put that song on that never fails to cheer you up. Crank up the volume, and hopefully, you’ll feel better in no time at all.

2.Get some air

Are you struggling to concentrate at work or have you got cabin fever at home? Fresh air can reinvigorate you, and lift your mood. Even if you just pop out for a quick walk around the block, or you take the kids out into the garden for 5 minutes, this can make all the difference.

3.Treat yourself to an express pampering session

Nothing makes you feel better than a little pampering. If you’ve had a busy day, take five minutes to try out some new plant based skin care products or enjoy a foot spa. Lock yourself away in the bathroom, light some candles, and enjoy a little you time.

4.Get moving

You may not have time for a full-on gym session, but getting your body moving will work wonders for your mood and your self-esteem. When you exercise, your body releases endorphins, which are also known as happy hormones. Your serotonin levels also increase. If you’re pushed for time, go for a brisk walk and stretch your legs. If you’ve got a little longer, say 20 minutes free while the children are napping, you can do a high-intensity interval session at home or get your yoga mat out.

5.Meditate

Do you feel like you haven’t stopped all day or are things getting on top of you? Sometimes, when you feel like you haven’t got enough hours in the day, it’s good to take a moment to clear your mind. Meditation is an ancient practice, but it plays an increasingly important role in modern society. Many people rely on meditation as a means of preventing or tackling stress. For others, it simply helps them to focus their mind, and gain control of what’s going on in their life. You don’t have to go to classes to meditate. You can do it on your own terms. All you need is five minutes of peace and quiet.

Every mom has moments when they feel frazzled or fraught. Hopefully, these 5-minute mood boosters will help to rescue you in your time of need and enable you to get through the day with a smile on your face.
